Regular professional matches

World Cup Singles Competition: In the 2024 Table Tennis World Cup, a 4-set system is used for the group stage, where the score can be 4-0, 3-1 or 2-2, and reverts to a 4 out of 7 system when it reaches the knockout stage.

World Championship singles matches: a 3 out of 5 system is used, where 3 sets need to be won in order to win the whole match.

WTT (World Table Tennis Tournament) competitions: 5 games to 3 in the first few rounds, and 7 games to 4 after reaching the semi-finals.

Recreational matches

Recreational matches are more flexible and can be set randomly according to immediate needs, such as single game, 5-point ball, etc.

Rules of the game and serve changes

Regular professional matches: Each set is won by 11 points, if the game is played to 10-10, you need to win 2 points to win. Change of serve every two balls, both sides have to change position at the end of each set.

Serving and Receiving Order: The receiving team becomes the serving team after every two serves, and so on until the end of the set. If an error is found in the order, play is immediately suspended and continued in the correct order.
